Dear Facilitator or Member,

Below for your review is the 'long form' biography created for your review. We have created this document so that you have the complete details and background on the Principals of American Marketing Group, Inc. (AMG).

As an AMG 'Business Advisory Board’ service (BAB's) AMG Group Facilitator (Facilitator) or BAB's program Member you will create the same document to share with the individuals who are involved on your BAB’s team, which is a peer group advisory board designed to help business owners and upper level managers solve their problems. This age-old concept, which was started by steel magnate, Andrew Carnegie, will help individuals become better leaders and managers, plus improve the overall health and financial stability of their company.

The purpose of this ‘long form’ biography is two-fold. One is so you have a complete understanding of the Principals, Facilitators and Members of your BAB’s group, along with each individual’s entrepreneurial experience, Corporate America exposure, experience, business acumen, community involvement, awards and hobbies. Secondly, this ‘long form’ biography will hopefully give you some ‘connecting rods’ with your entire BAB’s peer group advisory board. This is important because you will be interfacing with your team to help you solve business problems so you can become a better leader and manager, which will help improve the overall health of your company. Also, when new acquaintances realize they now share or have shared common interests, these individuals start building rapport, which leads to trust and a good solid, trusting relationship, which becomes the catalyst for ‘peers helping peers.’ And, as you know, in the business world people must have trust and confidence in the individuals and companies they do business with on a continuing basis. The most successful companies in the U.S. have trained their employees to understand that “people do business with people they like and trust.”

AMG BAB's Members are also taught the priceless value and benefit of the 'peers helping peers' business model and concept. There’s no doubt that it’s much easier to tell the truth to your peers rather than to your boss, underling, family member or friend. Why? Because your peer group has 'been there and done that', plus they are rowing the same business-boat that you are in and they understand the good, bad and ugly of your issues, concerns and problems. They are eagerly ready, willing and able to listen to you and are eager to share their suggestions, ideas and advice in hopes that you will do the same with them.

Thank the time you have spent reviewing our site and its contents. We look forward to doing business with you in the very near future.

Long-Form Biography

Richard T. Pisani, President & COO

Rich is a native of St.Louis, MO and graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School in 1965. He also earned his BS/BA in Marketing Management from Southeast Missouri State University and successfully completed his academics there in 1971. When he received his undergraduate degree he immediately joined Xerox Corporation in St. Louis where he started honing his innate sales, marketing and management skills. He spent seven successful years as a Area Sales Representative, Major Account Marketing Specialist, Branch Sales Training Manager and Area Sales Manager before he departed to start his own company. As a Sales Manager he had 12 direct reports, including ten sales reps, and had the responsibility of over 1,000 clients that billed over $6M annually with Xerox in 1977.

In 1978 he entered the entrepreneurial arena, raised the required start-up investment capital and launched American Business Brokers, Inc. (ABB). The business model and plan was to become the first business brokerage firm in St. Louis to specialize in the appraisal and marketing of privately held businesses, plus open a chain of brokerage offices. With help from his partner and staff, Rich expanded by franchising the company's concept and sold, trained and opened twenty three franchise offices in the Midwest. He and his franchisees recruited, hired and trained over 200 employees and/or independent contractors that sold over 275 small businesses annually, which brought in over $4M in yearly commissions for the franchise network. After building the system, Rich sold out to a privately held firm located in St. Louis. As part of the purchase and sales agreement, he executed a one year contract to continue marketing ABB franchises and training their new staff and business brokers. Their were 29 franchisees when he finalized his term.

At the beginning of 1981 he formed his current company, American Marketing Group, Inc. (AMG), which is a business development firm that specializes in business coaching, business brokerage, franchise consulting, business training. In 1982 he and his two partners launched the franchise expansion efforts of The Pasta House Co. District.      Starting in 1987 he began his eight year continuing education program and received his 'Fellowship in Entrepreneurial Studies' through St. Louis University's (SLU) Price-Babson College Fellows Program'. Commencing in 2005 the group stayed intact and now raises funds for the Forest Park 'beautification program', the St. Louis Zoo and - most importantly - other local charities that need financial assistance.

When I turned 64 on March 3, 2011 I realized that what's important in this life is having a solid relationship with my Creator, so I joined CBMC's weekly Bible Study & Operation Timothy program. Being born and raised as a Catholic I always believed in God and 'Life After Life', but had never read the Bible. As I have found in my studies now "it's not about this short lifespan on earth...it's about the next infinite life in heaven." Plus, "it's not about me...it's about Jesus." My goal is to lend my God-given talent, ability and skills to promote a spiritual journey for individuals and disciple others who need to find their way to the Lord.
